2輪滑車の機械的利点は、必要な力を約半分に減らすことができる点です。100kgの物体を500ニュートンの力で持ち上げることができます。2輪滑車の機械的利点は、1輪滑車の2倍です。ただし、2輪滑車を使用する際は常に注意が必要です。
2輪プーリーは固定式と可動式があります。単輪プーリーは、片側に荷重がかかった時のみ回転方向が変わります。2輪プーリーは、荷重を持ち上げると回転方向が変わるため、必要な力は半分になります。可動式プーリーは、より重い荷重に適しています。可動式プーリーは荷重に合わせて調整でき、荷重の分散がより均一になります。可動式プーリーは、単輪プーリーまたは2輪プーリーと組み合わせて使用できます。
